Bloxorz โ€“ TI-Nspire CX II Game Download

Bloxorz gameplay on a TI-Nspire CX II

You roll a tall rectangular block around a floating course and try to drop it into the goal hole, standing upright, without tumbling off the edge. Sounds simple. It is not.

How to install it

  1. Download the game with the button above. You'll get a .tns file, the file type TI-Nspire calculators use.
  2. Open nspireconnect.ti.com in Chrome on a computer or Chromebook, and plug your calculator in with its charging cable.
  3. Choose File Transfer, then To Calculator, then From Computer, and pick the .tns file you just downloaded.
  4. When it lands, the calculator shows a prompt. Choose Open and you're playing.

TI's web app only supports the CX II and CX II CAS. If you have an original CX, or you already use the TI-Nspire Student Software, sending the file through that works the same. The game lives in My Documents afterwards, so you can reopen it any time.

Rolling around

  • Arrow keys (or 4, 8, 2, and 6) tip the block over in that direction.
  • enter starts or selects a level.
  • tab opens the level select. Press it there again and it jumps straight to the furthest level you've unlocked.

Read the floor

The tiles are the whole puzzle, and their color tells you the rules:

  • Light grey tiles are plain floor.
  • Buttons open (or close) a bridge somewhere on the course. If nothing seems to happen, the bridge was already in that state.
  • Hard buttons only trigger when the block stands on them upright, full weight on one tile.
  • Orange tiles can't hold the block standing up. Cross them lying down or fall through.

Finishing has the same catch as the hard buttons: you have to arrive at the goal standing, not lying across it. Beaten levels stay unlocked, so you never have to replay the early ones to get back to where you died.
